"I tend to be straightforward, sometimes blunt in sharing critical truths — a work in progress, even now." — ANZIIF Journal
More than twenty years in insurance across Sinar Mas, Lippo General, AIG Indonesia, Etiqa Malaysia, and Allianz Utama Indonesia — the last as General Manager.
At Allianz Utama, he was instrumental in the retrenchment strategy that successfully resulted in the company turnaround, then headed the Sharia unit spinoff project. This work produced a peer-reviewed study in the International Journal of Multidisciplinary: Applied Business and Education Research (2023) and a profile highlight in the ANZIIF Journal.
He is one of the very few Indonesian professionals holding the ANZIIF Fellow CIP designation — alongside a bachelor of economics, a master of management, and a psychology dissertation currently in progress at Liverpool John Moores University on a UNICAF scholarship.
The pivot to psychology was not a departure from professional logic — it was its deepening. Insurance's core product is peace of mind. Psychology holds the key to whether people will voluntarily seek that protection, and whether institutions will grant it equitably.
Both fields share an underlying question: how do human beings manage uncertainty, assign value, and calibrate trust? A UNICAF scholarship enabled the transition to MSc Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University — directing the same questions toward wider terrain.
Rational, academically driven, high-achieving — Catholic schools, a corporate career with almost no fellow Buddhists in sight, a world of professional credentials and international certification. The current that knows institutions from the inside.
Spiritual, traditional, comfortable with ambiguity — rooted in the Dharmik traditions of Nusantara and intensive contemplative practice. The current that exercises composure under uncertainty.
The vantage point between these two currents — neither fully inside nor outside any single system — is the actual intellectual resource behind this book. Buddhist KTP is its first public expression.
